Light Wood PLA is a PLA blend infused with real wood fiber that prints with a natural wood-like color, texture, and even a faint wood smell. It can be sanded, stained, and finished much like real wood, making it ideal for decorative pieces, models, and furniture-style prints. Like all PLA, it is not suitable for prolonged outdoor exposure without a protective coating.
The base resin is a thermoplastic polymer derived from corn — environmentally friendly and biodegradable. The wood fibers are mildly abrasive: a hardened or steel nozzle is recommended for long print runs, and a slightly larger nozzle (≥0.4 mm) helps avoid clogging.
Wood PLA is rigid but brittle, with a matte finish that hides layer lines well.
Printing Temperature – Light Wood PLA
Nozzle temperature: 190–220°C (recommended 200°C)
Bed temperature: 50–60°C
Hardened steel nozzle recommended; ≥0.4 mm preferred to avoid clogs
Vary nozzle temp slightly during the print for natural wood-grain shading
