Dark Wood PLA with visible wood particles is a PLA blend infused with real wood fiber that prints with pronounced wood grain, deep walnut coloration, and a subtle wood smell. The visible particles produce an authentic, grainy finish that can be sanded, stained, and finished much like real wood. Like all PLA, it is not suitable for prolonged outdoor exposure without a protective coating.
The base resin is a thermoplastic polymer derived from corn — environmentally friendly and biodegradable. The wood particles are abrasive and clog-prone: a hardened steel nozzle ≥0.4 mm is strongly recommended.
Wood PLA is rigid but brittle, with a matte, textured finish that hides layer lines well.
Printing Temperature – Dark Wood PLA (with particles)
Nozzle temperature: 190–220°C (recommended 200°C)
Bed temperature: 50–60°C
Hardened steel nozzle ≥0.4 mm strongly recommended
Vary nozzle temp slightly during the print for natural wood-grain shading
