PLA Orange Pro is an easy-to-print material, easy to process (finishing), rigid, and not suitable for outdoor conditions (unless sufficiently thick finishing materials are applied). It is the most common material for printing due to its ease of use and low cost.
It is a thermoplastic polymer based on corn. This is the most widely used material in the industry, environmentally friendly and biodegradable. It is the preferred material because it allows easier post-processing.
PLA is rigid but brittle.
In outdoor conditions, corners may sometimes deform (depending on thickness and temperature). If a full finishing is applied (such as automotive-grade coating), it can become suitable for outdoor use.
The additives in PLA PRO / PLA+ / Tough PLA (these terms are similar) make the material about 10°C more heat-resistant and less brittle compared to standard PLA.
The more natural or pure the PLA (less synthetic), the weaker it is. It may be better for the environment but not for strength.
Printing Temperature – PLA Orange
Nozzle temperature: 195–220°C
Bed temperature: 60°C
Recommended nozzle working temperature: 210°C
If using a non-steel nozzle (lower thermal conductivity), increase by ~10°C
For very large prints (~100 hours), it is recommended to add glue and reduce bed temperature
