Silk PLA White is a PLA-based decorative filament with a glossy, silk-like finish. It is intended for visual and model prints, not for functional or load-bearing parts. The material is softer than standard PLA, which makes support removal noticeably easier — though it is also slightly more brittle.
The finish comes out beautifully straight off the printer, with no post-processing required. If you need a stronger material that can be sanded and finished, use PLA Pro instead.
Ideal for vases, cups, jewelry, home decorations, character figures, and any model where a smooth, shimmering surface is desired without visible layer lines.
Printing Temperature – Silk PLA White
Nozzle: 200°C (up to 210°C on very fast printers) — typically about 10°C lower than PLA Pro
Bed: 60°C
Slower print speeds are recommended in most cases
Storage
The spool ships vacuum-sealed with a desiccant. Once opened, store the filament in a sealed container with a desiccant. Silk PLA absorbs moisture readily — once damp it becomes brittle, hard to print, and the surface quality suffers.
